Sensei Lee Boon Heng, being modest, likes to be known as a Karate hobbyist. He travels extensively to Japan and around the world and has learned from many top Japanese masters.
He started training Karate in 1977 at the age of 15 under Keishinkan School of Karate. Thereafter, in National University of Singapore Dojo under Sensei Yoshimasa Ishikawa. His thirst for Karate knowledge brought him to Japan – Osaka, where he trained under the late Sokei Kenei Mabuni (Yoshukai) and the late Sokei Kenzo Mabuni (Nippon Karate Kai). He was then awarded 7th Dan Yoshukai in 2008.
In 2007, Sensei Lee Boon Heng furthered his Karate studies by going to Japan – Tottori and learn in detail, under our late Sokei Yoshimi Inoue (Inoue-ha Shito-ryu Keishin-kai). He was then graded 7th Dan in Inoue-ha Shito-ryu Keishin-kai. His learning never stopped and he is currently training under Sensei Tadashi Hashimoto (Hayashi-ha Shito-ryu Honbu, Japan – Osaka).
Sensei Lee Boon Heng is also skilled in Kobudo, he is proficient in Eku, Bo, Sai and Tonfa. He served as the technical advisor to many karate clubs in Hong Kong and we are honoured to have him as Shudokan Karate technical advisor.
